  • The easiest way is to go to our Pricing page and purchase online. We post you out a Gift Certificate and the process begins. We also have flexible payment options so you can book directly with us if you prefer.

  • See our Pricing page for the full details of each package. We advise setting aside additional time for set-up and rest breaks. We can split our packages into multiple sessions for an additional cost if you’re worried about the time. Similarly, we can also add on hours.

  • We offer four packages starting from Online to multiple In-person options. Take a look at our packages and pricing here

  • Great question. We’ll contact you to get started including the contact details of the subject and preferred timing for the interview. We’ll provide the details of our interviewer and set the ball rolling for our pre interview research. Our research focuses on the life of the subject, family stories that need to be covered, the questions you and other family members have always wanted to ask, and sensitive issues that we need to be aware of.

  • Our pricing for In-person interviews is based on interviewer availability in your location. Our interviewers do travel so get in touch to discuss or think about our online option which is available for all packages. A travel fee may be incurred if travel is outside the interviewer radius. Please contact us to confirm at [email protected]

  • Great question. Visit our Interview Cancellations Policy here.

  • Absolutely. We are a NSW-registered Covid Safe Business and have a Covid-19 Safety Plan. All interviewers conducting our audio life story interviews are fully vaccinated.

All In-person interviews postponed due to Covid-19 government restrictions will be moved to an equivalent remote Zoom session or rescheduled if an in-person interview is the preferred option. Please talk to us about cancellations and full refunds if a Covid-19 related rescheduling cannot occur. Also see our Interview Cancellation Policy.

  • Your loved one will be more comfortable about it then you think. Deep down, we all just want to talk and be listened to. Your loved one may be expecting you to ask about recording their memories. They may even be waiting for you to ask!

  • It’s normal to feel nervous - everyone does! You don’t need to do anything to prepare if you don’t want to. Just make sure you are comfortable on the day. If you want to prepare then you may want to have a look at the pre-interview information provided by your loved one who has booked the interview. Or you may want to have a look at some photo albums, or past histories from the family. You can do as little or as much as you like.

  • It’s hard work to write a personal memoir, and writing or typing gets even harder as we age. Recording audio is super easy and our professional editing results in a high quality program. More importantly, your loved one’s story is recorded and available to listen to forever. We even keep it safe and secure in our vault if you ever lose it.

  • Yes.

We’re licensed to include your music of choice, subject to availability. If choosing your own music isn’t your thing, let us know your favourite genre and we’ll select the music for you. We mix it into the final program.

  • The interview subject owns the copyright of the interview. A Lasting Tale conducts the interview on their behalf, we deliver the interview files to the person who booked the interview (the Customer or “you”), but the personal information disclosed is owned by the person being interviewed, aka the interview subject. There is a short consent form signed by the interview subject before the interview commences which outlines this.

  • Yes. We have a short consent form that outlines that A Lasting Tale has NO copyright over the audio life story. The interview subject owns the copyright of the interview, and we deliver the interview files to the person who booked the interview. The consent form outlines that the personal information disclosed is owned by the person being interviewed, aka the interview subject.

  • We follow the timeline of a life from childhood to now. We’ll provide an overview of the timelines and relevant questions so your loved one can prepare, but no interview is the same. We’re guided by pre interview research and the questions that you want us to ask. Our professional interviewers guide the story and ask questions based on what they hear, so that you get a compelling story to treasure forever.
